Think Vero Beach, Florida is a one-note story about all things physical – the beach, the Indian River, the golf and tennis?

I’m here today to surprise you with the scoop you probably do not know about the barrier island community of Vero Beach Florida, located an hour north of Palm Beach on Florida’s East Coast.

I was showing a house this morning and I saw throngs of people walking all along the Royal Palm Point area just off our bridges. I was confused at first and then I realized, aha! It's the annual wing fest in Royal Palm Point!

Like many visitors and new residents, we relocated from Connecticut to Vero Beach thinking we were coming for the warm weather, the tropical lifestyle, the beaches, the estuary -- all things physical.

We incorrectly assumed that a concession for all of Mother Nature’s bounty would be the existence of anything cultural or intellectual. What a conceit, in hindsight. And we could not have been more wrong.

The Cultural Heart of Vero Beach

Vero Beach is an artsy town that has a cultural landscape that will surprise you. From the beautiful Vero Beach Museum of Art with wonderful exhibitions, film series, and accredited education with FAU to the beloved Riverside Park with an actor’s equity Riverside Theater that serves as home to garden festivals, boat shows, automotive exhibitions, and art shows.

Vibrant Arts and Community Events

There’s a lively art scene in our downtown that houses a First Friday gallery stroll and a vibrant Ocean Drive merchants district that hosts our Saturday Farmers Market and free concerts along Ocean Drive once a quarter that are always super fun.

And come holiday time there is the annual Christmas Parade along Ocean Drive, which is a Vero institution.

Vero also offers multiple opera societies, symphonic and jazz concerts, and a thriving literary arts community.

Affordable Entertainment and Beyond

And the best part? Even our ticketed events at Riverside Park for Broadway traveling productions of plays and musicals are a fraction of what they would be in the Big Apple, with no traffic and you’ll be home in bed by 10 PM!

But wait there’s more! With our ideal location between Palm Beach and Melbourne, concerts and productions up at the King Center down to the Kravitz Center and in Sunrise Theater Fort Pierce offer additional options for major market productions.
